The Division of Emergency Medicine at Quinte Health – Trenton Memorial Hospital (TMH) is actively seeking PGY4 or PGY5 residents currently enrolled in a FRCPC EM program in an Ontario medical school to join our collegial and well-supported team in a growing and dynamic Emergency Department.



TMH sees over 30,000 patient visits annually, supported by a dedicated team of experienced nurses and allied health professionals in a collaborative and positive work environment.

Full-time physicians typically work 12 shifts per month, with a schedule designed to maximize coverage and ensure smooth transitions:

• Two 8-hour shifts and two 9-hour shifts per day

• Single-physician coverage per shift with brief overlap for effective handovers

• 9-hour period of double physician coverage during peak times, with the opening of our Fast Track/Greenzone area

• We use MetricAid scheduling software to provide ease and convenience when selecting shifts

The TMH ED is fully equipped with PACS, an on-site CT scanner, and Cerner EMR to streamline patient care. Plus, exciting renovations have been approved to enhance and modernize our Emergency Department.

TMH operates under an Alternate Payment Plan (APP) for stable and competitive remuneration. Plus, full-time physicians are eligible for financial incentives!

Comprehensive Specialist Support is available 24/7, close by at Belleville General Hospital, with access to family medicine, internal medicine, ICU, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, paediatrics, anaesthesia, obstetrics & gynecology, psychiatry, otolaryngology, and radiology.

Our ED is supported by PA’s.



Supervision:
Supervision will be provided, by your main supervisor, during all shifts. In person and/or via phone as required. There may be ED physicians, working onsite, during overlaps of shifts that will assist you.

Min Requirement:
PGY4 or PGY5 residents currently enrolled in a FRCPC EM program in an Ontario medical school and in good standing

Additional Requirement:
ATLS, ACLS

Remuneration:
ED AFA (approx. $175 - $275/hour for an 8-9 hour shift. Any overtime work, paid at the same rate)
