The Emergency Department Physician is responsible for providing immediate and high-quality medical care to patients in the ED department. 60% of our population doesn't have a family physician, so there can be non-urgent or less urgent cases. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the ED Physician plays a critical role in the frontline delivery of healthcare services, ensuring timely diagnosis, stabilization, treatment, and appropriate disposition of patients of all ages. Our ED department is supported by a nurse practitioner from Monday to Friday. Our volumes range between 40-50 patients in a full 24hr. The EMR system is Meditech Expanse.

Supervision:
Dr Talbot-Lemaire is the ED chief, she can provide support over the phone but would not always be present in the hospital.

Min Requirement:
Our hospital doesn't require any additional ED training for family physicians to work in the department, so a resident currently completing their ED plus one or doing their ED specialty are eligible.

Additional Requirement:
ACLS, ATLS, PALS

Remuneration:
3120-4200

Call:
Shifts are 12hr (day or night), with optional 24hr shifts. For the 12hr day shift, physicians are usually there for the full day. For the night shift, the volume is usually very minimal after 11pm, physician will go back to the apartment for the night.
